Disneyland’s newest attraction: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is making big progress! Last week the “Tiana’s Foods” water tower was officially installed, a big step into transforming the formerly known attraction “Splash Mountain” into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Guests took their last splash down the briar patch on May 31, 2023.
The Tiana’s Foods water tower is located to the right of the drop when looking at the attraction from the front. The water tower is complete with Princess Tiana’s Tiara on top from Disney’s film “The Princess and The Frog.” Walt Disney World installed the Tiana’s Food water tower at their version of the attraction back in June 2023. Walt Disney World’s version of the re-themed attraction is currently much further along.
If you visit The Disneyland Resort you will most likely spot the construction crew busy at work on the attraction site. Walls are currently up surrounding the attraction. There is currently still scaffolding and metal work covering the mountain. There is also a good amount of the mountain covered in gray plaster. The mountain will eventually be covered in beautiful green foliage like seen at Walt Disney World’s progress of the attraction.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take place after events in the film “The Princess and The Frog.” Tiana founded Tiana’s Foods co-ops in 1927 which takes place in a salt mine, where crops are grown along the waters. During the attraction Tiana and the alligator Louis take an adventure into the bayou where they run into other animal friends and the people of New Orleans preparing for Mardi Gras. The ride will include 17 new characters and Princess Tiana will be sporting a new outfit to adventure in! Disneyland has seen major changes in New Orleans square with the opening of Tiana’s Palace back in September of 2023. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at The Disneyland Resort is set to open late 2024.
