How Does The Tiered System Work?
The tiered system had been utilized in previous years, and is based on the amount of block out dates. The lower the tier number, the more block out dates there are. Guests holding lower tiered tickets will have less available days that they can try to get reservations for.
For example, a 1 day: tier 5 ticket has no block out dates, while a 1 day: tier 2 has only 6 days available for booking in the 60 day period. We’ve added the blockout dates to this article below:
1-Day Tier Ticket Types (Tiers 1-5)
1-Day Tier 5 Ticket Blockout Dates
1-Day Tier 4 Ticket Blockout Dates
1-Day Tier 3 Ticket Blockout Dates
1-Day Tier 2 Ticket Blockout Dates
1-Day Tier 1 Ticket Blockout Dates
Multi-Day Ticket Blockout Dates
Multi-day tickets have different entitlements and validity dates. Please check the details of a particular multi-day ticket at time of purchase.
Upgrading Tickets
Disney is not currently offering ticket upgrades. Check back with us at the DVC Shop blog for updates on when this feature will be available.
Disney has provided a calendar of the block out dates on their website so that guests can make their decision early on what type of ticket to purchase on the 15th, as well as try to narrow down the days they will try to book park reservations.
Those looking to go to the parks on the actual reopening date of April 30, will want to purchase the tier 5 option for tickets, since that is the only one that does not block out that precious first day.
What are your thoughts on Disneyland’s ticket prices? Will you try to purchase the higher tier to get in sooner or wait a little longer to get a cheaper price? Do you prefer one park ticket or do you like to add on the park hopper option? Let us know in the comments below what you think.
