Any one who has been to a Disney theme park knows that the lines start at security. That is now set to change, as Disneyland enhances security with body scanners. Guests may have previously spotted body scanners at Walt Disney World when they did their security update, but now Disneyland has followed their lead.
Previously at Disneyland Resort, guests would need to go through a metal detector, and Cast Members would open and look through every bag and check strollers. Now with body scanners, the process will be much more streamlined, minimizing the lines.
The full-body scanners that Disney has implemented at this time allow guests to simply walk through with all of their items. If the body scanner goes off, guests are then taken aside and their bags are searched. Having guests go through with body scanners shortens the lines for Disneyland’s security and allows guests to get into the parks much faster.
Whether the addition of body scanners is a permanent change to Disneyland Resort’s security or just a test period is unclear at this time. Back in October of 2020, Disney implemented the full body scanners. However, after a short while they were removed and Cast Members resumed their normal security practices. Hopefully the body scanners are here to stay, as the security lines are moving faster than ever.
