Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios has temporarily suspended its nightly projection show, Disney Movie Magic, by quietly removing it from their official calendar. No showtimes are currently listed on the this month or into mid-August as well, which is where the official calendar currently stops.
Why Has The Show Been Suspended?
The show, which typically runs at 8:45pm each evening, featuring music and projections onto the Chinese Theatre in the park’s Echo Lake area as a precursor to the Wonderful World of Animation nighttime show.
Disney has not provided an official reason for the suspension or a timeline for when the show will return, but it is expected to resume as it begins to get darker earlier in the day to offer a good backdrop for the projections to appear. As with any temporary closure or suspension, guests are encouraged to check for updates on the status of Disney Movie Magic and to plan their visits accordingly.
Wonderful World of Animation Still Scheduled
While the suspension of Disney Movie Magic may be disappointing to some guests, there are still plenty of other entertainment options available at Hollywood Studios. The nighttime spectacular, Wonderful World of Animation, is still schedule for 9pm each night, which celebrates Disney animation through projections and fireworks.
Despite the temporary suspension of Disney Movie Magic, Hollywood Studios remains a must-visit destination for any Disney fan. With its focus on movies, television, and pop culture, the park offers a unique and exciting experience for guests of all ages.
