Back in June of 2022, Disney announced they would be limiting the purchase of the Genie+ service, and lightning lane selections to the morning of your park visit. This has forced many park guests to wake up before 7 a.m. to frantically purchase Genie+, and begin making Lightning Lane selections before starting their day.
Also, many park guests have complained that in order to get the best value out of your Genie+ purchase, you must be fidgeting with your phone throughout the day, which can take away from the time they wish to spend creating memories with their friends and family on their vacation.
Genie+ Modifications Coming In 2024
Now, Disney has announced they are listening to park guest’s feedback regarding the cumbersome nature of some of these restrictions. They have pledged to change things in 2024, and allow guests to make their purchase of Genie+, and plan their Lightning Lane selections before the day they will be visiting the park.
Simplifying the Disney Genie+ experience: We have heard from guests that they would like ways to plan with Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane selections before the day of their park visit, and we want you to know we are working on ways guests may do this for visits in 2024. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to spend less time planning in the park and more time enjoying your visit with friends and family. While we are not yet able to share specific details, we look forward to sharing more information at a later date.
