Ride Overview
The Alien Swirling Saucers opened on June 30, 2018, the same day as Toy Story Land itself. The attraction is based off of the classic Disney-Pixar Toy Story movie, and takes place in everyone’s favorite imaginary grub spot, Pizza Planet. The theme of this ride is that it is a play set that Andy won from playing games in Pizza Planet.
The entire ride is space and pizza themed. There are pepperoni pizza columns, pizza planets, and even the iconic “claw”. The music is new and space age. Guests may recognize some of the songs such as “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” but as a sped up and spin worthy version.
This is a spinning ride based off of a “trailer hitch” style. Guests are loaded into the back portion of the attraction, behind the aliens inside of their flying saucers. As the ride operates, your rocket whips and swirls around various rotators on the ground. This ride could best be described as a combination of Mad Tea Party and waterskiing without water.

Location & Wait Times
Alien Swirling Saucers is inside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, specifically in Toy Story Land. This attraction is easy to spot. Right outside of the entrance to this ride is a giant Buzz Lightyear. Right across from the entrance is the Toy Story Land sign. This ride is also right next to Slinky Dog Dash and conveniently located near the Toy Story Land restrooms.
Alien Swirling Saucers typically have medium wait times. Early in the morning they will be quite low, however, as the park gets busier, so do the wait times. Luckily the queue can be quite fun and helps pass the time quickly.
Queue Experience
Sticking with Toy Story Land tradition, the queue for Alien Swirling Saucers is an engaging and captivating experience. The fun begins with the giant Buzz Lightyear in front of the queue, who is perfect for photo ops.
Once guests enter the queue, they will come across a giant alien blaster. Further along in the queue there are a ton of little games that smaller guests, or kids at heart, can play. As quests get closer the queue looks like a spaceship loading dock, before leading up to the entrance to the ride itself.
