Disney is renowned for its diverse culinary offerings, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. From mouthwatering burgers oozing with cheese to creamy chorizo tacos topped with guacamole, there’s something to tantalize every palate. Among the culinary delights that Disney has to offer, The Boathouse, situated on the water of Disney Springs, stands out as a delectable choice.
This table-service restaurant has garnered a reputation as one of the finest dining establishments on Disney property. Nestled right on the water’s edge, next to Vintage Amphicar & Italian Water Taxi Tours, The Boathouse immerses you in the world of boating from the moment you step inside. The décor is adorned with nautical items, evoking a maritime ambiance. You’ll find yourself surrounded by boating memorabilia, and, notably, there’s even an option to dine in a boat!
The restaurant boasts 3 nautical seating areas, as well as, 2 private dining rooms, providing a variety of dining experiences. Upon arrival, we asked the hostess to seat us somewhere unique and exciting, and we were promptly led to the piano room. This charming space features two grand pianos tucked into the corner, where talented musicians serenade diners with an enchanting selection of tunes. Throughout our meal, we were treated to a musical journey that included beloved Disney classics like “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and timeless hits like “Escape (The Piña Colada Song).”
As we settled into our table (or boat), a delightful surprise arrived in the form of freshly baked rolls. These rolls were generously coated in a honey mixture that melted in our mouths, setting the stage for a delightful culinary experience.
Our visit coincided with brunch, offering a tantalizing choice between the brunch and lunch menus. The brunch menu featured an enticing array of options, including crab cakes Benedict, fried chicken with biscuits and gravy, and Belgian waffles. Each dish that arrived at nearby tables looked as delicious as it sounded.
Our server at The Boathouse was a treasure trove of culinary knowledge, offering us in-depth insights into every dish and drink on the menu, which made our choices considerably easier.
Appetizer
For our appetizer, we opted for the Hoisin Chili Calamari, with a special request for the hoisin sauce on the side. When the calamari arrived, we were delighted to find it perfectly coated and cooked to sheer perfection. Drizzling on the hoisin sauce provided an additional layer of flavor, introducing a subtle hint of spice that tantalized our taste buds without overwhelming them. If you’re looking for another appetizer option, the Firecracker Shrimp is worth considering. This flavorful dish, with its delectable combination of sriracha mayo, peppers, and sesame seeds, is ideal for sharing or savoring solo.
Main Course
As we moved on to our main course, we decided to share a Grilled Fresh Mahi Sandwich, which came paired with a generous serving of golden fries. The sandwich, complemented by chipotle tartar sauce, added a delightful hint of spice to the grilled mahi, creating a tantalizingly delicious combination. The French fries, freshly cut to perfection, served as an ideal side. Alternatively, you might want to explore other enticing options like the Mahi Tacos or the Filet Mignon Sliders. The sliders, in particular, are a symphony of smooth, delectable flavors that melt in your mouth, with a side of those freshly cut, crispy fries.
Every aspect of our dining experience at The Boathouse was undeniably delectable, from the welcoming warm honeyed rolls to the exquisite Hoisin Chili Calamari and the mouthwatering Mahi sandwich. This culinary journey at The Boathouse ranks among the best dining experiences we’ve had at Disney. Don’t forget to explore the adjacent gift shop, where you can browse through a selection of boating and fishing-themed shirts and nautical items, perfect mementos to commemorate your memorable day.
