Our Favorite DVC Resort Lobbies And Why

Grand Lobby

Exploring Disney resorts is one of my favorite things to do when visiting Walt Disney World. There are dozens of Disney resorts and many DVC resorts, each with their own unique theming and design. Each deluxe resort contains its own set of shops, restaurants, and unique recreational opportunities and attractions. Exploring DVC resorts is a great way to spend time when you take a short weekend trip or have a resort-only vacation. You can easily spend hours just hopping from resort to resort. Resort lobbies are one of my favorite things to view because you can learn so much about the resort from that space. Here are some of my favorite DVC resort lobbies and why.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

This is one of the oldest resorts at Disney World, but the lobby is iconic and has amazed guests since the 1970s. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a resort that transports you to another world from the moment you step foot on its property. The lobby is impressive with a ceiling that stretches several stories high. Exposed wood and real logs are used in its construction, and you can see how much work it took to put this together. Several fireplaces roar and guests can cozy up and relax while they wait for their room to be ready, or rest after a day in the parks. My favorite thing in this lobby is the stream with real water, and a bridge that goes across it. The stream eventually flows all the way to the pool!

Disney’s Polynesian Resort

This resort’s lobby will always be one of my personal favorites. I love stepping foot into the Polynesian Resort lobby and feeling like I’m in a tropical paradise. The tall ceilings, stone floor, and tropical plants throughout never fail to make me feel like somewhere new. There’s two shops to explore, one on the main floor and one just above it. There you’ll find resort merchandise that you can’t find anywhere else. This lobby is also home to Ohana and Kona Cafe, two restaurants with amazing Hawaiian-inspired food.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort has my favorite lobby for many reasons. The monorail runs through the resort lobby giving you an amazing view of the monorail. Impressive murals go up the tall walls, and guests can soak in the details of these works of art for hours. There are several shops in this area as well, along with Contempo Cafe, Contemporary Grounds on the lower floor with Steakhouse 71, and Chef Mickey’s.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

This DVC resort isn’t at Disney World but rather 2 hours away on the east coast of Florida. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is a beach resort with so many fun offerings. Its lobby is one of my favorites because of its detail and references to the sea turtles that hatch here. The resort lobby’s floor even has turtle prints indented in the wood.
