As we bid farewell to 2023, it’s time to reflect on the noteworthy happenings and developments within the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). This year was filled with significant changes, new introductions, and exciting improvements that have shaped the DVC experience for members. From the announcement and debut of new DVC resorts to a slew of renovations, let’s take a walk down memory lane and unpack the key developments that made headlines for DVC during 2023.
A New Entry Point: Reduction in Minimum Buy-In for Points
In a move that has made the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) more accessible to fans, DVC reduced the minimum buy-in for points. The previous requirement of 150 points has been reduced, with new members now being able to purchase just 100 points when purchasing directly from Disney.
Annual Passes Come Back
After a period of discontinuation, DVC reinstated the much-loved annual passes. The return of these passes has brought joy to many members, allowing them to enjoy the magic of Disney throughout the year.
Launch of the Disney Vacation Club Star View Station
Adding another feather to its cap, DVC opened the Star View Station. This new addition to the Disney properties offers guests an unparalleled view of the stars, making their Disney vacation even more memorable.
Cabins at Fort Wilderness Announced
2023 saw the announcement of the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. These cabins offer a unique wilderness experience, blending the rustic charm of the wilderness with the comfort and luxury that Disney is known for.
Inauguration of the Villas at Disneyland Hotel
The grand opening of the Villas at Disneyland Hotel was another highlight of 2023. These villas provide guests with a luxurious stay experience right in the heart of Disneyland.
Updates and Upgrades: Refurbishments and Renovations
Several refurbishments and renovations took place in 2023, ensuring that DVC properties continue to offer top-notch facilities and services to their members.
In 2023, full refurbishments kicked off at Hilton Head and the BoardWalk, while the Beach Club and Vero Beach embarked on soft goods refurbishments. These renovations consistently showcased trends like the inclusion of Murphy beds, the preference for soft color schemes, and the incorporation of artwork that prominently features Disney characters.
We also saw some working being done at Grand Floridian, lightly updating the lobby, and working on the balconies outside the main building of the resort.
The Polynesian Tower To Join Existing Condo Association
The Polynesian Tower was announced to become a part of the existing Condo Association. This exciting development will open up new booking opportunities for existing owners of the Polynesian resort. Similar to what occurred with the Grand Floridian and Big Pine Key, this expansion is expected to generate significant demand for Polynesian contracts on the resale market.
Our plans right now are for the new tower to be part of the existing Polynesian Resort.
