Introducing Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, a new table-service restaurant set to debut this summer inside the Japan Pavilion at EPCOT! This new dining location will be taking the place of Tokyo Dining, which closed it’s door back November of 2022.
This new dining experience promises to offer a “festive dining experience in a sharable Izakaya-style”. For the uninitiated, Izakaya is a Japanese-style pub that typically offers an array of small plates and shared dishes, as well as beer, sake, and other alcoholic beverages.
Menu Preview For Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya will offer an eclectic menu ranging from sushi to Japanese pancakes, let’s take a peek at what’s coming to this new restaurant.
If you are a sushi lover or want to try something new, this menu has a variety of delicious options for you to explore. The sushi bar offers some great dishes such as the Kobore Sushi, Tokyo Negi Roll, Funamori, and The Monster Roll. Kobore Sushi, which literally means “overflowing sushi”, is a must-try dish that has a rich variety of flavors. The dish includes a tasteful combination of negi toro and nakaochi tuna, garnished with salmon roe and green onion.
Also, the Tokyo Negi Roll, which is made by rolling green onion tempura with tuna tataki and then topping it with jalapeno aioli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeno is a delicious combination that you don’t want to miss.
If you are a fan of sushi or want to try something new, this menu offers several delicious options. The sushi bar features delicious bites like Kobore Sushi, Tokyo Negi Roll, Funamori, and The Monster Roll.
The Funamori dish is served on a boat-shaped platter and consists of sashimi and sushi. It is accompanied by a festive pomp and boat procession similar to the famous Tenjin Matsuri.
In addition to the sushi bar, the grill will also offer tasty Japanese dishes. One of the featured grilled items is Okonomiyaki, a savory pancake made with flour, eggs, and water, filled with cabbage and bacon, and topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.
