We recently reported that The Villas at Disneyland Hotel would be opening to the public this September, and shared some of the first sneak peeks at the decor and layout that can be expected from this new 12-story tower.
What many excited Disney fans on the west coast have been wondering was how things are looking on the outside of the building on the construction site. DVC Shop’s very own Brittney Malina put boots to the ground, iPhone in hand, to capture some progress photos for us, let’s take a look!
Villas At Disneyland Hotel Construction Photos
As you can see in this picture, there’s a large fence placed around the construction site that prevents guests from getting too close, but we can see some serious forward progress. The basic structure of the tower is almost completely done.
Surrounding the tower, construction crews have placed scaffolding to aid in adding the facade of the building. If you peek carefully through the netting that has been applied to the scaffolding, you can see much of the facade work on the outside of the building has already been completed.
As we can see here, Disneyland Resort is already gearing up for the 100 Years of Wonder celebrations that being on March 19th, 2023.
Getting closer to the tower shows just how massive this building really is. The building is expected to house a total of 326 additional units that will be added to the Disney Vacation Club resort portfolio.
These resort additions will mostly consist of Deluxe Studio villas, which are rumored to total up to 271 additional Studio-sized units. The new DVC tower is also slated to feature up to 38 two-person “pods”, which have been compared to the Tower Studios that can be found at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Also, about 19 One Bedroom Villas, 20 Two Bedroom Villas and 2 Three Bedroom Grand Villas are projected for this addition. The new 12-story tower will be built on the southwest side of the Disneyland Hotel grounds and is projected to blend in with the existing towers. Site plans also detail an addition of over 300 new parking spaces to accommodate the additional DVC guests.
