Disney has announced that Disney’s Skyliner will be closing for refurbishment starting on January 22nd through January 29th, 2023. The closure is expected to last for just one week, and during that time, guests will be able to use other transportation options such as buses and boats to get around Disney World.
Which Disney Guests Will Be Affected?
The short closure of the Disney Skyliner will affect guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Caribbean Beach, or Disney’s Riviera Resort that wish to travel from their resort to either EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The closure of Disney’s Skyliner for refurbishment is not unprecedented. In fact, it is fairly common for transportation systems at Disney World to close down for routine maintenance and updates.
What’s Next For This State-Of-The-Art Gondola System?
Disney’s Skyliner is a gondola lift system that connects several Disney World Resort hotels with Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The system first opened in September 2019 and has been a popular transportation option among guests.
We will continue to update this story on the DVC Shop blog as more information becomes available as to what exactly is being worked on regarding the Skyliner.
