It is no secret that the crowds at Walt Disney World are beginning to increase. Some of that is due to holidays, like Spring Break, while some of it is because people are feeling more comfortable traveling again. If you are trying to avoid crowds and high wait times, you may want to consider if the day you are attending each park will effect how busy it is.
Although it is almost impossible to predict what the crowds will be like on a day to day basis, we have visited the parks on various days of the week to check for ourselves. These are the days that are best to visit each park to skip the crowds in Disney World, based on our research.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is the most iconic Disney World park by far. This park is highly popular with families and adults alike looking to feel some Disney Magic.
The least busy day at Magic Kingdom is going to be on Tuesday. If you cannot make it on Tuesday, Thursday or Wednesday are both a good second choice.
What is the absolute busiest day at Magic Kingdom? Well, Magic Kingdom Mondays are very real for vacationers and locals alike and the wait times reflect that. If you are looking to avoid the highest crowds, you’ll definitely want to avoid Mondays.
Epcot
Epcot is traditionally known as the more adult themed Disney park. As such you will see high crowds on the weekends and the days leading up to it. Many locals like to go to Epcot on the weekends to enjoy festivals and drinks leading to these higher crowds.
The best time to visit Epcot will be on the Weekdays, specifically early in the week. Mondays and Wednesdays tend to have the shortest wait times and lowest crowds.
Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is probably the most crowded park in Disney World on a regular basis. Although crowds will be drawn away from it on special occasions such as New Years Eve or the 50th anniversary celebration, every regular day here include high wait times and crowds.
If possible, visit Hollywood Studios on a weekday, specifically Tuesday or Thursday as they tend to be somewhat slower days.
Animal Kingdom
For those looking to avoid crowds, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the park to do just that. Animal Kingdom tends to have the lowest crowds and wait times every day of the week and is also not an extremely sought after park on holidays either. This is usually due to the fact that Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks and does not have as many attractions, although the attractions that it does have are pretty great.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the park to flock to on any day of the week, including weekends. You won’t see too much of a difference in the crowds and waits here other than a slight increase in waits on weekends.
Conclusion
Crowds at Walt Disney World are constantly fluctuating. Holidays and special events tend to bring more crowds and therefore more wait times to each of the Disney Parks, but there are some days of the week that will be busier than others. In general these are the least busy days in each park:
- Magic Kingdom – Tuesday
- Epcot – Monday
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Thursday
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Wednesday
As you can see, visiting the Disney parks during the week is best to avoid the crowds, and some parks will have lower crowds daily compared to others.
