If you are traveling to Disney World for a family vacation with a kid who has a lot of energy then this is for you. Parents of kids with high sensory needs, or kids who just need to burn off extra energy during the day, might be nervous to travel to a place like Disney World. It’s true that there is a lot of structure during a day at the Disney parks with shows and attractions. But there are plenty of areas that you can visit with your kids where they can play, run, and burn off all that energy.
1. Dumbo The Flying Elephant Playground at Magic Kingdom
This attraction is not only a classic Disney ride but it’s also home to a wonderful indoor playground. When you enter the line for Dumbo you enter a circus tent that houses a play area that’s perfect for kids to burn off some extra energy. You’ll receive a pager that will notify you when it’s time to enter the line for the ride and your kids are free to run around and play until then.

2. The Castle Hub Grass at Magic Kingdom
If you find yourself in need of some stretching room then head over to the castle hub grass at Magic Kingdom. This area is located near Casey’s Corner, and gives you a great view of Cinderella Castle. This grassy area is great for a picnic, sitting, or letting your kids run around a bit. The castle hub grass gives you space to relax and soak in the ambiance of the park while you watch your kids play.

3. EPCOT’s Playground Near Test Track
Not many guests know that EPCOT is home to a classic playground area. If you go near Test Track you’ll see this small playground that’s perfect for letting your kids run off some steam. This play area has structures for climbing, space for running, teeter totters, and other playground equipment. This area is great for playing with your little ones while the big kids and other grown-ups go ride Test Track!

4. Disney Junior Dance and Play at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
This attraction is located in Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios and is a lesser-known attraction that burns off energy. The Disney Junior Dance and Play is a giant dance party starring Disney Junior characters and Mickey Mouse. Dance, shake, and shout during this fun party while your child burns off steam and sees some of their favorite Disney characters!

5. Tike’s Peak at Blizzard Beach
If you find yourself at Blizzard Beach during your next vacation then be sure to check out Tike’s Peak. This special play area is just for kids and has age-appropriate fun for any child. Kids can run through splash zones, slide down small slides, and wade in small pools.
