Disney Vacation Club has expanded its offerings at the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows with the addition of 18 vacation homes to the Island Tower DVC inventory. This expansion comes just months after the Island Tower became available for purchase and open to guests, reflecting Disney’s efforts to meet growing demand.
For DVC members, this latest update means an increase in booking options and an more booking opportunities to explore a refreshed take on Disney’s Polynesian-themed monorail resort.
Details of the New Additions

As of March 18th, 2025, Disney officially declared 18 additional vacation homes, located on the third floor of the Island Tower’s central and southern sections. These new units consist of a range of room types, including Duo Studios, Tower Studios, dedicated One-Bedroom Villas, and Lockoff Two-Bedroom Villas. Notably, one of the Tower Studios has been designed as an accessible unit, featuring a hinged balcony door for ease of access.
This declaration brings the total available DVC vacation homes at the Island Tower to 72, leaving 150 additional units that remain under Disney’s control for other uses, such as cash reservations or marketing purposes.
The last declaration of Island Tower inventory saw Disney bring 14 vacation homes into DVC back in December of 2024.
Breakdown of Declared Vacation Homes

The newly added homes contribute to the growing inventory at the Island Tower, with a diverse list of offerings designed to suit various guest needs. After this recent declaration, the breakdown of declared units by type is as follows:
- Duo Studios: 15 of 39
- Tower Studios: 26 of 91 (including one accessible unit)
- Dedicated One-Bedroom Villas: 9 of 26
- Lockoff Two-Bedroom Villas: 18 of 46
- Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villas: 2 of 16
- Two-Bedroom Deluxe Villas: 2 of 4
The allocation of Disney Vacation Club points for the newly added units totals 335,538 points, with a combined current total of 1,185,190 declared DVC points for the building. This represents nearly 33% of the estimated total points for the Island Tower’s inventory.
Impact on DVC Members
For Disney Vacation Club members, the increase in declared units expands the booking possibilities at this desirable location. The Island Tower’s modern design and convenient access to resort amenities make it an attractive choice. With additional studios and villas now available, members have more flexible options to use their points for accommodations that better fit their vacation preferences.
However, it’s important to note that the physical location of legally declared units does not necessarily determine where a guest will stay. Assignments depend on availability within the declared inventory, with similar unit types located throughout the building.
Future Plans for Island Tower
Although details about the next phase of declarations have not been shared, the remaining 150 units at Island Tower present significant potential for growth. These units will likely be released gradually as demand increases. For now, the additional vacation homes mark an important milestone in making this new property accessible to a larger number of Disney Vacation Club members.
Closing Thoughts
The addition of 18 vacation homes to the Polynesian’s Island Tower underscores Disney’s ongoing commitment to expanding the inventory available for DVC members. This expansion not only highlights the popularity of the new tower but also provides members with increased booking flexibility and options.
