The support beams have picked up a fresh coat of stain and some copper detailing, giving the project a more finished feel. The area has been surrounded by mint-colored construction walls since it closed in May 2026 for the shade structure refurbishment. Those walls remain in place as the work continues.
A New Look for the Beams
The most visible change is with the support beams themselves. Back in July, the vertical and horizontal beams carried a honey brown tone. They have since been stained a darker brown, which gives the whole structure a richer, more polished appearance.
The horizontal beams have also been capped with a thin layer of copper. That trim adds a bit of contrast against the darker wood and hints at the finished look Disney is going for.

A few small details suggest the staining happened very recently. Blue painter’s tape is wrapped around the black riveted panels that connect the vertical and horizontal beams, which is the kind of protective step crews take right around the time a fresh coat goes on.

With the park closed, the entertainment has not gone away. Performers who normally appear at Waterview Park have relocated to Riverboat Square, in front of Paddlefish.
