Unique Queue Lines At Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney World is known for its details, and when guests spend a portion of their day in attraction queues, it only makes sense for these lines to be themed and unique. The Disney details are what keeps guests coming back year after year. The Imagineers have thought out every single detail when it comes to the attractions at the park, and many guests consider the beginning of the attraction to be the very moment you step into the queue line. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a park that celebrates nature and how we interact with it. Here are just a few of our favorite unique queue lines at Animal Kingdom.

Expedition Everest

This thrilling roller coaster is considered to be one of Animal Kingdom’s finest attractions, and most expertly themed. Like most Disney attractions, the theming of this ride begins the moment you enter the line. Guests first enter outdoors, and as they move through the queue they visit shrines to the Yeti monster. As they enter the indoor portion of the queue they begin to see a museum of sorts where “artifacts” are on display, and items that seemingly prove the Yeti’s existence. Because of the queue, guests board the attraction wondering if the Yeti is actually real, or if it is truly a legend. The suspense builds, and the attraction begins.

Avatar: Flight of Passage

This attraction is located in Pandora, the World of Avatar, and it has a big story to tell that has to start in the queue. Avatar: Flight of Passage isn’t your typical thrill ride. This attraction features a banshee ride through Pandora, and guests are invited to link with their very own banshee and have their own flight and adventure. The story once again begins in the queue, as guests make their way through the science facility and see various experiments and things that hint towards the journey they are about to take. Guests will even see a large Avatar, ready to go for their experience with the banshee.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

One of Animal Kingdom’s newest attractions is Zootopia: Better Zoogether. This attraction is a 4-D show experience that takes place inside The Tree of Life Theater. The queue for this attraction is unique because guests get to actually go inside the tree of life. Guests will be surrounded by roots and other organic-looking material as they go deeper into the tree. The ceilings get lower, and the ambiance thickens. The attraction itself is a fun show featuring characters from Zootopia.

Kali River Rapids

Often overlooked, this thrilling water attraction has quite an immersive queue for being entirely outdoors. As guests make their way towards the ride itself they pass carvings, statues, and other times that set the scene of being deep in the jungle.
