The 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World is coming up fast, and Disney wants to make sure that everyone is able to celebrate. “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World” will air on October 1st, so that everyone can enjoy the EARidescent magic, even in their own homes. “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World” will premier on ABC on October 1st at 8 PM and will go until 10 PM Eastern Time.

This special will take guests through the journey of Walt Disney World’s last 50 years with performances, interviews, and never before seen footage. The festivities will include some huge household names, starting with the host. The special will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, and will feature musical performances in front of the Cinderella Castle from Christina Aguilera and Halle Bailey. In between performances, viewers will see exclusive interviews with Disney actors and actresses, Cast Members, Disney Imagineers, and executives. Some of the big names you can expect to see are; John Stamos, Anthony Anderson, Tom Brady, Melissa Joan Hart, James Cameron, Bob Weis, Mark Kohl, Bob Chapek, Bob Igor, and more.

This special will share how Walt Disney World went from the swamps of Florida into the cultural icon that it is today. The show will share it all starting with Walt’s original vision and moving forward to future plans for the parks. Information on shows that have been filmed in the parks, and Disney campaigns such as the “I’m going to Disney World”, and Disney’s partnership with the Make-A-Wish foundation.
