When beginning your adventure on the dock in Fantasyland, you’ll notice each ride vehicle is a boat themed to a classic Disney character. Not only will you see these miniature models, but also gorgeous topiaries and gardens. Crazily enough, all of the scenes are hand-built by many beloved Imagineers.

Throughout your journey, you are led through your cruise by a storytelling Cast Member. They will tell you the classic story from each scene you pass by on your voyage through this magical land. You may even find yourself singing along to the music that plays from the films at each different detailed scene.

In 1955, when Disneyland opened, The Storybook Land Canal Boat was an original attraction. When the attraction first opened, it was named Canal Boats of The World. One year later, they updated the attraction by adding many miniature scenes to the original man-made gardens. Initially, there were no scenes from any of the Disney Classics. Instead, it was just garden areas that even Walt himself had a part in planting!
