The Magic of Old Key West MagicBand
The Old Key West MagicBand is a unique offering that adds an extra dash of old-school DVC pride to your next Disney trip. This specially designed MagicBand is themed after the Disney’s Old Key West Resort, which will forever be appreciated as the resort that kicked off this crazy experiment we now call DVC.
What Makes It Special?
The Old Key West MagicBand is more than just a way to profess your love for this Florida-keys-theme resort. It serves as a key to the magical kingdom, allowing guests to unlock their Disney Resort hotel room, enter theme parks, check in at Lightning Lane entrances, connect Disney PhotoPass photos to their account, and even charge food and merchandise purchases to their room. Plus, it’s just downright cute, isn’t it?
How to Get Your Hands on One
Currently, the Old Key West MagicBand is available for pre-arrival purchase. Guests with a reservation at any Disney Resort hotel can purchase this MagicBand on the MyDisneyExperience.com website at a special pre-arrival price. In order to make a purchase, your account must be linked with a future reservation at a Walt Disney World resort, such as the Deluxe Resorts that are part of Disney Vacation Club.
However, it’s important to note that the availability of the MagicBand is subject to inventory and it’s sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Design Elements
The Old Key West MagicBand comes in a vibrant turquoise color, featuring beautiful artwork that embodies the spirit of the Old Key West Resort. The band showcases the hospitality house, the lighthouse, Mickey and Minnie in a row boat palm trees, and waterways, bringing to life the essence of the Florida Keys. The band also has a tropical orang and palm tree motif in the center, adding a touch of yesteryear Florida charm.
Setting Up Your MagicBand+
Setting up the newer version of the MagicBands, known as MagicBand+, is a little different than the original bands. It not only retains all the original features but also introduces interactive features like glowing, vibrating, and providing special light effects based on the wearer’s location within the park or during certain shows.
