A new interactive drawing experience is scheduled to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, offering guests an opportunity to learn character animation. Titled “Olaf Draws!”, this updated version of the Animation Academy will be hosted by the popular snowman from Disney’s “Frozen.” The attraction is designed to appeal to guests of all ages by combining hands-on instruction with character entertainment.
Experience Overview
“Olaf Draws!” will be located in a reimagined animator’s studio within the park. The setting is inspired by a scene from the short film Once Upon A Studio, where Olaf is seen at an animator’s desk. The space will feature themed elements from the “Frozen” films, including sleigh-themed drawing tables for younger children and more traditional animator-desk workstations for other guests.
A new Audio-Animatronics figure of Olaf will serve as the host, welcoming guests and introducing the classes. The experience will feature original dialogue recorded by Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf. His character will guide participants with his signature optimistic and humorous personality.
The Drawing Lessons
While Olaf will host the experience, the actual drawing instruction will be provided through pre-recorded video segments. These segments will feature prominent Disney Animation artists who will guide guests through the step-by-step process of drawing various Disney characters. This format allows participants to learn from the expertise of professional animators.
The artists will share tips, techniques, and stories from their work at the studio as they lead the class. The selection of characters available to draw will rotate, providing a different experience with each visit. This encourages repeat participation and allows guests to build a collection of their own character sketches.

The new Animation Academy will feature a diverse lineup of characters from both classic and contemporary Disney films. Each lesson will be led by a specific artist or director associated with that character. The announced roster includes:
