Is Park Hopping Right For You?

Disney 4 parks

Guests visiting the Disney parks will be happy to know that they aren’t limited to just visiting one park per day. By adding the park hopper option to their ticket, guests can visit more than one park during the day. The park hopper option usually costs an additional $60-$80 per ticket. This option is great for guests who can’t decide which park to visit, or for guests who aren’t visiting for very many days. But how do you know if adding the park hopper option is the right move for your family? Continue reading to determine if park hopping is right for you!

Pros of Park Hopping

Moving from park to park during your Disney vacation can have many benefits associated with it. There are no longer any restrictions on park hopping as far as the time of day, and the number of parks you visit. Some guests even participate in a challenge of visiting all 4 parks in one day. If you want to see more during a short period of time, then park hopping can allow you to do so.

Another pro of park hopping is that it gives guests more flexibility in their dining options. If you want to play at Magic Kingdom but eat dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In at Hollywood Studios you can make that happen with park hopping.

Another pro of park hopping is that it gives you the opportunity to experience different attractions. If you want to rope drop Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom and then move over to EPCOT for more attractions, you can do that.

Cons of Park Hopping

While there are many benefits of park hopping, there are some aspects that some may consider to be drawbacks as well. Park hopping does take time, and some guests who move quickly might find the transition period between parks to be grating. Guests who are traveling with young children or elderly persons might find moving from park to park to be a bit more difficult than what it’s worth. Some guests find that they can’t squeeze enough out of the park if they are only going to be there for a half day or shorter.

Guests who are traveling on a budget might find that the price of the park hopper addition isn’t worth it for them, or they might forgo the park hopper option in order to save money.

Is it Right for You?

So is park hopping right for you? That depends entirely on your needs and what you want to get out of your Disney experience. If you think that going from one park to another will be a good and effective use of your time then you might find park hopping worth it. If you see yourself wanting to try multiple different restaurants throughout the parks, then definitely consider park hopping. But if you are looking to save some money, spending one day at each park is still a great way to spend your time.
