Planning a Disney vacation can mean taking many things into consideration. Disney World consists of 4 theme parks, 2 waterparks, dozens of resorts, and a shopping center called Disney Springs. There are many moving parts to consider when planning your Disney vacation. One important thing to consider is ensuring you get to experience your favorite rides ,or any rides on your must-do list. Planning your day at the parks can be made easy when you plan your day around your favorite rides. Continue reading for some tips on how to plan your Disney day around some of your favorite attractions.
Make a List of Must-Do’s
Taking note of which attractions are most important to you is the easiest way to plan your day around rides. When considering which attractions to experience, think about them in order of importance. Don’t just make a list of must-do’s, but make a list of which attractions you could experience in addition to the must-do’s if you end up with more time. Which attractions are skippable? Which attractions are you willing to come back to later on, if you end up with more time than anticipated. Making several lists of attractions is a great way to go into the parks with a plan. This is essential if you are only visiting one park per day, have limited time to spend in the parks, or are traveling during busy seasons like spring and summer breaks.

Make Note of Location and Proximity
Going into the parks with a plan on which attractions to experience first is just as important as determining which attractions to ride. When researching, be sure to make note of the locations of each ride. Try and clump together your ride experiences so you aren’t spending time backtracking and trying to go from place to place. For example, in Magic Kingdom you should plan your attractions out in advance so you can experience all attractions in each themed land at once before moving on to the next one.

Be Aware of Popularity and Average Line Length
While you should aim to experience attractions in close proximity to each other, sometimes this isn’t possible due to popularity of the attraction and line length. For some popular attractions, guests will have no choice but to rope drop them in order to have a shorter line. Others might have a long line at noon, but a short line at 8pm. Because of this, guests should still plan on remaining flexible.

Use Lightning Lane for Efficiency
Purchasing Lighting Lane is a great way to be efficient when experiencing attractions. During some days at the park, it just isn’t feasible to wait in lines. Lightning Lane allows you to book reservations for certain attractions so you can return and wait in a much shorter line.
