Meeting your favorite Disney characters is a must-do for many guests during their Disney World vacations. But did you know that you don’t actually have to enter a theme park to see characters? There are several character experiences located throughout Disney World property that don’t require park admission at all. From character dining to some more unexpected experiences, you can still get plenty of Disney magic during a day outside of the parks. Here are some ways to meet Disney characters without ever entering a Disney park.
Have Breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace
Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort offers one of the most popular character breakfasts outside of the parks. During Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends, guests can see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy dressed in adorable outfits inspired by different types of artists. After breakfast, you can even spend some time exploring Riviera or hop aboard the Disney Skyliner for a ride. Dinner at Topolino’s Terrace does not feature characters, so be sure to make your reservation for breakfast if meeting characters is your goal.

Visit Chef Mickey’s
Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a classic choice for character dining. Guests can enjoy a meal while seeing Mickey Mouse and several of his friends throughout the restaurant. The Contemporary is just a short distance from Magic Kingdom, but you don’t need a park ticket to dine here. This makes Chef Mickey’s a great way to experience some classic Disney magic during an arrival day, departure day, or another day when you aren’t planning on visiting the parks.

Meet Characters at 1900 Park Fare
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is home to another character dining experience at 1900 Park Fare. Characters currently include Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel, and Tiana in her adventure outfit. This lineup makes 1900 Park Fare especially unique because guests can see characters from several different Disney stories during the same meal. You can also spend some time exploring the Grand Floridian before or after your reservation.

Enjoy Breakfast at ‘Ohana or Cape May Cafe
There are even more character breakfast options at Disney’s resorts. At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, guests can enjoy the Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch at ‘Ohana. Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe gives guests another opportunity to see Minnie and some of her friends. These breakfasts can be a fun way to begin a resort day while still getting some character interactions into your vacation.

Attend Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long
Character dining isn’t the only way to see Disney characters outside of the parks. Guests can head over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long. This experience combines a campfire, music, and an appearance from Chip and Dale. It’s a completely different experience from standing in a traditional character meet and greet line and can be a fun activity for families looking for something to do away from the parks.
