Hidden Details You Miss At EPCOT’s World Showcase



EPCOT World Showcase

Disney World has become a top vacation destination thanks to its theming and great attention to detail. Guests love coming back to the parks because they feel completely immersed in the world. Every attraction, building, and street are intricately designed by Imagineers. Every detail down to the pavement is intentional. EPCOT is a park that celebrates world culture and innovation. World Showcase is a celebration of 11 different country pavilions, each with their own unique details and attractions. If you find yourself traveling to EPCOT this year, be sure to keep an eye out for these details you might miss at World Showcase.

Mexico

  • This Pavilion is designed to look like a Mayan pyramid, and when you go inside it appears to be nighttime which is the perfect hour for socialization and gatherings!
  • Inside the Mexico pavilion guests can find hand-carved wooden animals known as alebrijes. They represent spirit guides and other figures in Mexican folklore.

Norway

  • In the Norway pavilion don’t forget to look up. Here you’ll find a roof with real growing grass, which is similar to those found in Norway during the middle ages/ Viking times.
  • Don’t skip the Stave Church Gallery. This small building looks unassuming, but open the doors and you’ll find a small gallery dedicated to showcasing the history of Nordic tales and Viking figures.

China

  • Don’t miss the tranquil gardens located outside of the building that shows Reflections of China. These traditional Chinese gardens are great for a break.
  • Don’t skip the Reflections of China film! The interior of the building is beautiful to see, and the glimpses of China shown during the film are unmatched.

Germany

  • Guests can find a model train area within this pavilion as they make their way toward Italy. These model trains live within a model village, and guests can easily spend several minutes soaking in the little details.

Italy

  • The bell tower seen here is an 83 foot replica of the St. Mark’s Campanile.
  • This pavilion is modeled after Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Japan

  • Don’t miss the Japanese gardens that exist outside of Katsura Grill. As you make your way up the stairs you’ll be treated to these traditional gardens that offer peace and tranquility.
  • The Bijutsu-Kan Gallery is located near the rear of the pavilion and features a showcase of Japan’s “kawaii” culture.
  • The Mitsukoshi Department Store found in this pavilion is a real department store that is found throughout Japan.

Morocco

  • Within this pavilion you’ll find the Fez House. This area is modeled after a typical Moroccan family home.
  • When gazing into the distance within the pavilion you can see the Tower of Terror from the neighboring Hollywood Studios park. This attraction blends in seamlessly with the Moroccan architecture thanks to Disney Imagineers thinking ahead.
