Susan’s Fishing TripFishing… at Disney?? Yes, and what a great experience it was. Who would have thought climbing aboard a pontoon boat, and trolling the waterways of Disney would be more exciting than Space Mountain, but it was. It proved to be one of my most memorable and favorite things to do at DisneyWorld. I’m no fisherman, but my son was and of course this was his trip so… I booked the Fishing Expedition, leaving from Yacht Club Lighthouse.
We were met, and escorted onto a pontoon boat, by our guide who not only knew a lot about fishing but provided snacks! Being a non-fisherman he graciously baited my hook.. ohhhh worms, and helped me cast my first line. My son loved it as we trolled up next to the Boardwalk and people walking by yelled “there comes a big one”. He caught fish after fish, catch and release Large Mouth Bass. We spent 4 hours cruising, laughing and catching fish.The water was so clear they could be seen biting your baited hook. It was peaceful and a great break from all the hustle/bustle of the parks.

With Disney’s guided fishing excursions, guests of all abilities can enjoy the fun of bass fishing at its best. You can choose from a 21-foot pontoon boat that can fit up to 5 people, or a tournament-style NITRO bass fishing boat which can accommodate 1 or 2 people.
You can select between 2 or 4 hour excursions, and you can even add an extra hour at the Marina if it is available. Anglers that are fishing solo can even book the whole afternoon for a reduced price.
All Disney fishing excursions come with:

- Artificial and/or live bait (no live bait on NITRO boats)
- Non-alcoholic beverages only
