Permit Details

Disney has filed a Notice of Commencement permit for work at Sir Mickey’s gift shop. The scope of the project includes the installation of a six-foot-high interior wall. This construction is expected to create a more permanent and defined space for the Fairy Godmother meet-and-greet, which is currently separated by a temporary curtain.

Current Setup

The Fairy Godmother meet-and-greet is part of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience, where children ages 3 to 12 receive magical makeovers. After their transformation, young guests can meet the Fairy Godmother in a designated area within Sir Mickey’s. Currently, access to this space is restricted to those who have completed the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience.

Enhancements to the Experience

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Updates

Last year, Disney updated the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages, adding the option for children to meet the Fairy Godmother as part of their experience. This enhancement has been well-received, and the upcoming construction aims to further improve the setting for these magical interactions.

Permanent Wall Installation

The new wall will replace the temporary curtain currently in place, providing a more polished and immersive environment. While the wall will not reach the ceiling, it is expected to match or slightly exceed the height of the existing curtain.

What to Expect

The updated meet-and-greet area will continue to be exclusive to guests who participate in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. The addition of a permanent wall will enhance the overall atmosphere, making the space feel more magical and intimate for young guests meeting the Fairy Godmother.

Conclusion

The upcoming construction at Sir Mickey’s marks another step in Disney’s ongoing efforts to enhance guest experiences at Magic Kingdom. By creating a more permanent and immersive space for the Fairy Godmother meet-and-greet, Disney is ensuring that this cherished interaction remains a highlight for families visiting Fantasyland. Stay tuned for updates as construction progresses.
