Disney’s Viral “Glambot” Attractions For Young Adults

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The Disney “Glambot” trend has taken over social media. This new challenge features guests riding high-thrill attractions, such as the Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and recreating cinematic slow-motion videos reminiscent of being on the red carpet. These dramatic, stylish, and funny poses captured at the peak of the ride contrast with the typical shocked expressions seen as guests plummet downward. Although not all rides in this trend are in the same park, young adults traveling to Disney can use these tips and tricks to participate based on which park they visit.

Disclaimer: The term “Disney Glambot” refers to the slow-motion video captured on this specific attraction, not a separate booth you can pay for. It is a feature of this ride itself. To get a Disney Glambot video, capture your ride video with PhotoPass, then access and download it in the My Disney Experience app.

The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests enter a dilapidated hotel frozen in time known as The Hollywood Tower Hotel. Its interior showcases a dust-covered lobby wrapped with cobwebs, evoking a sense of abandonment. The attraction unfolds as guests step into a maintenance service elevator, where a television activates and an overhead narration reveals the hotel’s dark past. After a terrible accident, five hotel guests vanished during a storm while riding the elevator. This spooky hotel features thrilling drops and sudden rises, and every visit to the “5th dimension” known as The Twilight Zone, is unique, as the attraction uses a different drop pattern each time.

TRON: Lightcycle / Run

At Magic Kingdom, guests are greeted with a massive canopy known as the “Upload Circuit”. Here, guests are loaded into the Grid, a digitized, futuristic world inspired by the TRON films. Guests join Team Blue and mount sleek Lightcycles, with the goal of racing through eight energy gates to beat Team Orange. The attraction’s fastest point propels riders at 60mph! Sharp turns, blazing neon lights, and electronic music rushes around riders, simulating a high speed digital race straight out of the movies. This makes TRON Lightcycle / Run a perfect backdrop for your next Disney “Glambot” video.

Tips and Tricks

  • Aim to ride in the front row so you can get the clearest framing.
  • Strike your pose during key moments such as when the elevator opens or before the big drop.
  • Simpler is better! Subtle gestures such as blowing a kiss, dramatic stares, or hair flips look best.
  • After the ride, check the My Disney Experience app to locate and download your video for sharing.

The Disney “Gambot” trend, popularized on social media platform TikTok, offers a fun and creative way for young adults to immerse themselves in classic attractions through a new lens. Whether you’re striking a pose on the Tower of Terror or serving face on TRON Lightcycle / Run, this trend transforms high-thrill rides into lighthearted, shareable moments.
