The weather in central Florida can be quite unpredictable at times. Disney World is located in Orlando, and many of its attractions are outdoors with some being weather dependent. But rainy days at Disney don’t have to mean less magic! Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a park that is full of attractions and movie magic. Like the other Disney parks, the weather doesn’t have to be perfect in order to enjoy the experiences throughout. There are several attractions at Hollywood Studios that are perfect for rainy days. Here are just a few of our favorites.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
This attraction is located in the park’s icon, The Chinese Theater. Featuring state-of-the-art animatronics and Imagineering, this attraction is fun for the entire family. It’s located entirely indoors so the weather will never be a problem! This attraction follows Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy as they attempt a picnic in the park. Every detail in this attraction is Imagineering’s finest, and it’s a new twist on the classic dark ride.
Toy Story Mania
Located in Toy Story Land, this is the only Toy Story attraction that takes place entirely indoors. Toy Story Mania is pure fun, from the queue to the ride itself. Guests compete for the highest score through a series of Midway games, and their ride vehicle zips throughout the carnival experience. Toy Story Mania has no height requirement, making it the perfect attraction for the whole family to enjoy.
Tower of Terror
This thrill ride is located on Sunset Boulevard and is for guests 40 inches or taller. Perfect for a rainy day, this frightening elevator experience takes guests to The Twilight Zone. This isn’t your ordinary drop tower ride, as the drop sequence is randomized so you never really know what you’re going to get. Not only is this attraction entirely indoors, but it also feeds into the ambiance for a rainy day!
Rise of the Resistance
This attraction is located in Galaxy’s Edge and is also an indoor attraction that is perfect for a rainy day. Rise of the Resistance is an entire experience that begins the moment you enter the queue. This attraction is a combination of a thrill ride and dark ride and is for guests 40 inches or taller. This attraction brings the world of Star Wars to life, and features life-size AT-ATs, Storm Troopers, animaronics, and more.
Star Tours
This Star Wars attraction is great for rainy days because it takes place indoors and typically doesn’t have a long wait time associated with it. Star Tours is a 3D adventure through space as guests fly with C-3PO and other familiar faces. This ride experience is also randomized, so guests can get different scenes every time they ride this ride.
