Planning your Disney vacation with a budget in mind is a great way to make the most of your trip without breaking the bank. Dining is a huge part of any Disney vacation. Not only is Disney World a known destination for foodies, but food is also important fuel for you and your family during your trip. Days at Disney can be long and tiring, and taking a break for a meal is a very important aspect of anyone’s Disney day. Whether you choose to enjoy a table-service meal or a quick-service restaurant, here is what is worth trying when dining on a budget at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Tusker House Restaurant
This character dining experience is both unique and fun! Guests join Donald, Mickey, and a few other friends as they enjoy African-inspired cuisine. Tusker House serves both breakfast and dinner, and guests can expect a buffet full of goodies for both. The food at Tusker House is a blend of Africa, Asia, and Indian flavors. It’s different than other dining buffets at Disney. Picky eaters need not fear, as there are plenty of classic American options on the buffet as well. This restaurant also gives families with children a great opportunity to meet some amazing characters without waiting in line. If your budget allows, Tusker House Restaurant should be a must-do for you.

Flame Tree Barbecue
This quick-service food location is near Discovery Island and has great outdoor seating overlooking the Expedition Everest Attraction. Guests on a tighter budget who need to stick with quick-service meals should definitely consider Flame Tree Barbecue. This restaurant serves yummy barbecue like pulled pork, ribs, smoked chicken, and so much more. Sides include macaroni and cheese, and other delicious options. There is also a large drink menu with special beers on tap that you might not be able to find many other places.

Satu’li Canteen
Located in the Pandora, Satu’li Canteen gives you a unique glimpse of the culture of the Navi. Satu’li Canteen serves unique meals like the Ocean Moon Bowl featuring blue noodles and tuna, as well as the chimichurri beef and shrimp bowls. The seating here is indoor which can offer a good break from the heat of the day. This restaurant is highly recommended by many guests.

Tamu Tamu Refreshments
If you need a sweet treat or a pick-me-up be sure to stop at Tamu Tamu Refreshments. They serve Dole Whip in various forms including floats with pineapple juice or Orange soda. You can even get rum added if you so wish! Tamu Tamu also serves Joffrey’s Coffee drinks, as well as pastries and breakfast items in the morning like the very popular Guava and Cream Cheese Danish!
