During the COVID-19 pandemic Disney made many changes in an attempt to maintain social distancing while continuing to provide services to guests. One of the changes was a modified housekeeping schedule at Disney Resorts. We are happy to announce that housekeeping at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have returned to their normal pre-pandemic schedule!
What does this mean for guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels? Cast Members will be cleaning the rooms now on a more frequent basis. Housekeeping services include the following every other day:
- Making the bed
- Full bathroom cleaning
- Wipe down of all surfaces
- Replacement of amenities
- Vacuuming
- Dusting
This change in the housekeeping schedule does not currently apply to Disney Vacation Club resort rooms. Currently the only way to get extra cleaning services as a DVC member is to purchase additional housekeeping services. However, Disney makes changes constantly, and it is likely just a matter of time until housekeeping resumes its previous schedule for Disney Vacation Club rooms as well.
The resorts that currently are offering the pre-pandemic housekeeping schedule include:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney’s Boardwalk Resort
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
- Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
- Old Key West Resort
- Saratoga Springs Resort
What do you think about Disney returning to its pre-pandemic housekeeping schedule? Do you prefer a more frequent cleaning or do you enjoy not being disturbed as often? Let us know your thoughts on these changes in the comments below!
