Planning your first visit to Disney is exciting and full of anticipation! So many families dream of their visit to Disney finally becoming reality, and by taking the steps to plan your vacation you are one step closer to the magic. Anyone visiting Disney World will have a wonderful time, but some visitors can be more prepared than others. When visiting the Disney parks for the first time, some visitors can make mistakes without even realizing it. Worried about your first visit? Don’t fear! Here are some Disney World mistakes that first-timers make without even realizing they are doing it.
Trying to Do It All
If you go into your Disney vacation thinking you’re going to be doing every single attraction, show, and meet and greet, then you are making the first common Disney mistake. The Disney parks have so much to see and do within them, there’s no way you’ll be able to do it all in one day. And if you try, then you’re setting yourself up for a busy, overstimulating, and stressful experience. When going into the parks, pick your top 5 attractions for the day and simply try and experience those. Anything else you get to ride is just a bonus to your must-do list. The Disney parks are all about relaxing, exploring, and finding things to do along the way. Be sure to build in some breaks to soak in the ambience during your visit.

Spending All Day Waiting in Line
While waiting in line is part of any Disney vacation, you don’t have to wait in line all day long. If you see an attraction with a long line, you don’t have to hop in right away. You could monitor the wait time throughout the day to see if it lowers later on. You can purchase Lightning Lane to reserve a time to experience the attraction as well. You could also continue walking through the park to try and find an attraction with little to no wait while you figure out what to do next.

Eating At The First Place They See
Many guests make the mistake of letting themselves get too hungry and then stopping at the first quick-service restaurant that they see. When this happens, guests might not end up satisfied with the meal they received. Before you enter the park for the day, you should take note of the food options available to you. Build time into your day to stop at a quick service that appeals to you, so you have a pre-determined meal break and don’t feel rushed.

Not Planning At All
Just like over-planning can make your vacation too rushed and stressed, under-planning can be a mistake as well. As fun as it is to “go with the flow”, a Disney vacation still requires some level of planning to be enjoyable. Reservations must be made, and you should have a general idea of what rides you want to enjoy and what areas you wish to visit before you enter the park gates.
