Getting to and from Walt Disney World just got a little easier for some resort guests. Disney has expanded its airport luggage transfer service, giving travelers more airline options when flying through Orlando International Airport.

The update matters for guests who want to spend less time dealing with bags on travel day. Here is a simple look at what changed, how the service works, and why it could make a Disney trip smoother.

More Airlines Now Included

Disney first introduced this luggage transfer service as a pilot program for Southwest Airlines. It allowed guests staying at select Value Resorts to hand off checked bags at their hotel instead of bringing them to the airport themselves.

Now, Disney has expanded the service to include American Airlines and United Airlines as well. That gives more guests the chance to use the program, with the possibility of more airlines being added later.

At this time, the service is available at these Disney Value Resorts:

  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

How the Service Works

The program is operated by BagCheck and can help with both arriving and departing flights.

For arrivals, guests register online before their trip using their Disney hotel reservation and airline confirmation number. After checking bags with their airline at the departure airport, they can skip baggage claim at Orlando International Airport and head to their Disney resort. Their bags are then delivered through the service.

For departures, guests check in for their flight online, pay any bag fees with their airline, and bring their luggage to Luggage Assistance at the resort. Bags must be dropped off at least four hours before the flight, and a photo ID is required. Disney recommends dropping off bags the night before when possible.

Guests need boarding passes ready before bag drop, and resorts do not print them. If a flight is canceled, bags are redirected to the new flight automatically.

Final Thoughts

Disney’s expanded airport luggage transfer service is a practical update for travelers staying at select Value Resorts. With American Airlines and United Airlines now joining Southwest, the service will likely help more guests simplify both arrival and departure day.

For Disney World visitors who want a lighter travel experience, this is one service worth knowing about.
