As DinoLand, U.S.A. prepares to close at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Dino Institute musician, a popular improv performer, will be moving to a new location within the park. This change ensures that the unique entertainment offering will continue to delight guests even after the closure of DinoLand. Here’s what we know about the musician’s relocation and future performances.

The Dino Institute Musician’s Current Role

The Dino Institute musician, also referred to as the “intern,” debuted in 2024 at Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand, U.S.A. Known for their engaging and improvisational musical performances, the intern quickly became a fan favorite. Over the years, the musician has also participated in special events, such as the Cool Kids Summer offerings in 2025, where they performed alongside characters on Discovery Island.

Relocation to Africa

With DinoLand, U.S.A. set to close in February 2026, the Dino Institute musician will relocate to the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While details about the new performance setup are still emerging, it’s expected that the musician will receive a new costume and theme to align with the African setting. This move ensures that the performer remains a part of the park’s entertainment lineup, offering guests a fresh take on their musical talents.

Recent Test Performances

In preparation for the transition, the musician was recently spotted performing in the Discovery River stands. According to the performer, this was a test and not a permanent change. For now, the musician will continue to perform at Restaurantosaurus until the restaurant and DinoLand officially close.

Wrapping Up

The relocation of the Dino Institute musician ensures that this beloved entertainment offering will continue to be a part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, even as the park undergoes significant changes. Guests visiting in 2026 can look forward to experiencing the musician’s performances in a new setting, adding to the rich tapestry of live entertainment at the park.
