Construction Progress on Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Resort

The construction of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, the upcoming addition to Disney Vacation Club’s resort portfolio, is steadily advancing at Fort Wilderness Resort. Set to open in 2027, this nature-inspired resort is being built on the former site of River Country, offering a blend of modern amenities and scenic surroundings. Here’s the latest update on the progress.

Overview of Lakeshore Lodge

Reflections Concept Art

Lakeshore Lodge is designed to celebrate the beauty of nature, drawing inspiration from Disney’s artistic heritage. The resort will feature A-frame cabins, a lazy river, and a variety of guest amenities. Its location on Bay Lake provides a tranquil setting while maintaining proximity to other Walt Disney World attractions.

Construction Updates

A-Frame Cabins

The A-frame cabins, a signature feature of the resort, are taking shape along Clementine Beach. Roofing has been added to several cabins, with some structures further along in development than others. These cabins are expected to offer a unique and cozy lodging experience for guests.

Main Resort Building

The main building, which includes the porte cochere and guest check-in area, is progressing steadily. Roofing and concrete reinforcements are being added to the angular overhangs, creating a striking architectural feature. This area will serve as the central hub for guest arrivals and departures.

Lakefront Bar or Restaurant

A lakefront structure, believed to be a bar or restaurant, is also under construction. Roofing work is nearly complete, and scaffolding has been removed from parts of the exterior. While initial plans suggested a Princess and the Frog-themed restaurant, the final design may differ as the project evolves.

Lazy River

A structure surrounding the resort’s planned lazy river is beginning to take shape. Currently, the area consists of cinder blocks and scaffolding, but it promises to be a relaxing feature for guests once completed.

Parking and Covered Areas

In the parking lot, red supports have been installed, which may indicate plans for covered parking or walkways. These additions will enhance convenience for guests arriving by car.

Anticipated Features

Lakeshore Lodge is expected to offer a range of amenities, including:

  • Nature-Inspired Design: Architecture and landscaping that reflect the natural beauty of Bay Lake.
  • Recreational Activities: A lazy river, walking trails, and other outdoor features.
  • Dining Options: A potential lakefront restaurant or bar with scenic views.
  • Proximity to Fort Wilderness: Easy access to the activities and amenities of the neighboring resort.

Conclusion

The construction of Lakeshore Lodge is an exciting development for Disney Vacation Club members and Walt Disney World guests. With its focus on nature and unique design elements, the resort promises to be a serene retreat for families and visitors. As progress continues, we look forward to seeing this new addition come to life.
