April is the time to celebrate nature at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and this year brings a fun set of Earth Month Magic Shots. These special photo ops, available through April 30, let you add some favorite Disney characters and nature themes to your park photos. With help from Disney PhotoPass photographers, guests can collect these unique shots at different spots throughout the park.
What Are Magic Shots?
Magic Shots are enhanced Disney PhotoPass pictures with digital surprises, like beloved characters or themed effects. Photographers guide you on how to pose, and later your photo pops up online with the added magic. It’s a great way to capture memories and explore new corners of Animal Kingdom.
Grandmother Willow
Look for Grandmother Willow from Pocahontas near the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris or in the Africa Marketplace. She’s there to remind everyone about the importance of respecting nature.
WALL E and EVE
Find WALL E and EVE at the very entrance to the park, before the ticket windows. These characters bring a fun environmental message as you start your Disney day.
Heimlich
Heimlich from A Bug’s Life pops into photos at several spots: by the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Africa Marketplace, between Yak & Yeti and Anandapur Theater in Asia, and near Discovery River Lagoon with Expedition Everest in the background. He’s a reminder of the little creatures who play big roles in our world.
Tiny Tree of Life
You can hold a glowing, tiny Tree of Life in your hand thanks to a Magic Shot taken by the Discovery River, between Africa and Asia. It’s a fun visual and a great park memory.
Timon and Pumbaa
Catch Timon and Pumbaa in lots of places: at the park entrance, near Creature Comforts, in the Africa Marketplace, close to the Lion King statue near Pizzafari, and on the bridge from Discovery Island to Africa. They’re all about celebrating the circle of life.
Pocahontas and Flit
On Discovery Island near the Tree of Life you can pose with Pocahontas and her hummingbird friend, Flit. Swirling leaves complete the look for a nature-themed snap.
Mufasa
Mufasa appears in the clouds for a photo near the Discovery River (between Africa and Asia) and in the Africa Marketplace. This Magic Shot is all about legacy and looking after the planet.
Lion King Grubs
Across from Feathered Friends in Flight in Asia, grab a quirky shot featuring the colorful grubs from The Lion King. It’s a playful nod to how every creature matters.
Explore More, Capture More
Because each Magic Shot is in a different area, you’ll have a reason to visit parts of the park you might have missed. You’ll enjoy a little Disney magic, get some cool photos, and maybe learn something new along the way.
