Disney’s Animal Kingdom might not have as many character meet and greets as some of the other Disney World parks, but there are still several characters to look out for during your visit. Some of these characters fit perfectly with the adventurous and animal-focused theme of the park, and there are even opportunities to meet several classic Disney characters while enjoying a meal. If meeting characters is on your list for your next Disney vacation then check out some of the best character meet and greets at Animal Kingdom.
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse
Mickey and Minnie are two characters that many guests hope to see during every Disney World vacation. At Animal Kingdom, guests can meet the pair together at Adventurers Outpost on Discovery Island. Mickey and Minnie are dressed in their adventure outfits, making this meet and greet especially fitting for Animal Kingdom. Being able to meet them together also makes this a great stop for families who want a photo with both characters without waiting in two separate lines.

Moana
Guests can also meet Moana during their day at Animal Kingdom. Moana meets guests at Character Landing on Discovery Island where visitors can stop for a photo, autograph, and interaction with the Wayfinder. Animal Kingdom feels like a particularly fitting park for Moana because of its focus on nature and adventure. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app during your visit for her current appearance times.

Pocahontas
Pocahontas is another character that guests should keep an eye out for while visiting Animal Kingdom. Unlike some of the park’s traditional meet and greets, Pocahontas can sometimes be spotted making appearances around the park rather than at a permanent indoor character location. This makes seeing her a bit more spontaneous than visiting Mickey and Minnie or Moana. Keep an eye on the day’s entertainment offerings and your surroundings as you explore the park for opportunities to see characters like Pocahontas.

Kevin
Fans of Up might encounter a very unusual bird wandering around Animal Kingdom. Kevin has been known to make appearances around Discovery Island, interacting with guests as she explores the area. Rather than standing in line for a traditional meet and greet, guests can see Kevin roaming around and potentially snap a photo during the encounter. Kevin’s impressive size and colorful appearance make her difficult to miss and one of the more unique character experiences at Disney World.

Tusker House Restaurant
One of the best ways to meet multiple characters at Animal Kingdom is to make a dining reservation at Tusker House Restaurant. Located in the Africa section of the park, Tusker House offers character dining during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Donald Duck hosts the experience alongside Mickey Mouse and other Disney friends, who visit guests throughout the dining rooms dressed in their safari gear. This is a great option for families who want to meet several characters without spending time waiting in separate character lines throughout their park day.
