Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto: A First Look at the New Encanto Ride at Animal Kingdom

Disney has shared its first real look at the Encanto attraction heading to the new Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Announced at D23 2026, the ride carries an official name and a story built around one of the film’s most charming moments. Here is what fans can expect from this addition to the park.

The Attraction’s Official Name

The attraction will be called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and it sits within the new Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The name points directly to the story at the heart of the experience, and the placement fits well with a park that has always focused on the natural world.

Jared Bush, who wrote and directed the film Encanto and now serves as Chief Creative Officer of Disney Animation Studios, shared the details on stage. He tied the project back to Walt Disney’s original goal for Disneyland, where stories could step off the screen and into a space guests can walk through.

The Story Behind the Ride

The attraction takes place on Antonio’s gift day, a meaningful occasion for the Madrigal family. Antonio’s new gift is the ability to communicate with animals, and that talent shapes the entire adventure.

The message running through the ride is a simple one: everyone belongs to the same family of living things, no matter what gifts or abilities they may have. It is a theme that carries over naturally from the film and gives the attraction an emotional throughline beyond the visuals.

Riding Through Casita

Guests board ride vehicles designed to look like pieces of furniture brought to life by the power of Casita, the Madrigal house. Rather than sitting still, these vehicles react to the scenes around them, behaving almost like characters of their own.

Bush noted that one of the more rewarding parts of the project was expanding the world of Encanto beyond what appears in the film. The team created new areas of the house that fans have not seen before, which means the ride offers fresh spaces even for those who know the movie well.

A Rainforest Full of Animals

The journey moves through the rooms of Casita and eventually reaches Antonio’s room upstairs. In the attraction, that space is reimagined as a lush rainforest filled with wildlife.

More than 50 animals appear inside the ride, drawn from species found in Colombia. Early looks at the scenes included a capybara getting a trim, along with a toucan and a donkey. To keep these details accurate, Walt Disney Imagineering worked with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Team so that the animals reflect the real region.

Familiar Voices Return

Several voice actors from the film return to bring their characters back for the ride. Stephanie Beatriz reprises Mirabel, Jessica Darrow returns as Luisa, and Diane Guerrero plays Isabella once more.

During the presentation, a behind-the-scenes video showed the cast recording their parts. Darrow described the film as a strong fit for this kind of experience, since its color and energy translate well into a space guests can step inside.

Built for the Whole Family

One practical detail should appeal to families planning a visit. The attraction will not have a height requirement, so guests of all ages can ride together.

That choice fits the tone of the story and makes Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto an easy addition to an Animal Kingdom itinerary, especially for groups traveling with younger children.

Final Thoughts

Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto brings the Madrigal family into Tropical Americas with a story rooted in Antonio’s gift, furniture-inspired ride vehicles, and a rainforest filled with animals accurate to Colombia. With returning voice talent and no height requirement, the attraction is shaping up to be a welcoming stop for a wide range of guests.
