If you are planning a vacation at Walt Disney World, you will find that are many perks to staying at a Disney resort. Some people might choose to stay elsewhere and then drive to the Disney parks each day, but you might discover that once you stay at a Disney resort you won’t want to leave. Here are 5 reasons to stay on Disney property during your next Walt Disney World Vacation.

1. Free Transportation To and From Each Park and Disney Springs

Perhaps one of the biggest perks in staying at a Disney Resort are their diverse and efficient transportation system. Whether you are staying at Copper Creek‘s Cabins or Contemporary’s Bay Lake Tower, you will always have a free and fast way to get to any Disney park or Disney Springs. Walt Disney World offers busses, the monorail system which travels to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, and the Disney Skyliner which travels to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. All Disney Resorts have bus transportation.

The DVC resorts located on the monorail line are Bay Lake Tower, Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, and The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. The DVC resorts located on the Skyliner are Disney’s Riveria Resort with close access to Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. No matter which resort you choose, you will be thankful that you have access to get back to your resort after a long day, or even just for a quick mid-day break.

2. Advance Dining Reservations 60 Days Before Your Stay

Advance Dining Reservations are essential for any Walt Disney World vacation. Walt Disney World dining is a valuable experience and reservations fill up quickly. Usually Advance Dining Reservations open up 60 days prior to the day that you are looking to book. However, if you are staying on Disney property you are able to make Advance Dining Reservations up to 60 days in advance of your check-in date. This means that you can book a reservation for any day of your stay up to 60 days in advance of your check-in date. These few days could mean the difference between booking a popular restaurant such as EPCOT’s Space 220 or not. This is an excellent perk in staying on property if you plan on dining at Disney World.

3. Early Theme Park Entry

Guests who stay on Disney property are allowed to enter all 4 Disney parks 30 minutes before normal operating hours! This benefit can be enjoyed on each day of your stay and you can have access to select attractions before other park guests. Just make sure you have a park reservation for that day!

Guests who are staying at Deluxe resorts and DVC Villas can also enjoy extended evening hours on select nights. There will also be extended evening hours for Hollywood Studios during the month of December to celebrate the holiday season.

4. Early Access to Purchase Lightning Lane

Another great perk of staying at a Disney resort is early access to purchase Lightning Lane reservations. Normally you would have to wait until the park opens to make your first Lightning Lane reservation. However, if you are staying at a Disney resort you are able to make your first reservation at 7am. This massive perk will give you an advantage on scoring Lightning Lane reservations for major attractions such as Rise of the Resistance or Space Mountain!

5. Enjoy A Fully-Immersive Vacation

The biggest reason to stay at a Disney resort is that by staying on property you get a fully-immersive magical experience. Staying on Disney property makes your vacation feel all-inclusive. You don’t have to worry about driving, or how to get back to your resort if you have one too many drinks at World Showcase. If you are traveling with children you can get back to your resort for nap time in less than an hour. When you stay on Disney property you feel like you are in a Disney city that you never have to leave.
