Do you want to stay at Walt Disney World but prefer to avoid being in the middle of it all? If so, consider staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas. They offer a unique allure and serenity that no other resort on the property can achieve. From the detailed lobby embellished with totem poles to the welcoming rocking chairs in front of the extravagant stone fireplace, this resort presents tourists with an authentic appreciation of “America’s Great Northwest.” If this sounds like the place for you, here are five things I recommend you do on your next visit:

Go Fishing

Did you know that you can fish for largemouth bass in Disney World? It is available at the Wilderness Lodge marina. Your guide will supply you with all the equipment and tackle you need during your outing—including a fishing rod and reel, fake lures, live bait, and non-alcoholic drinks. Life jackets are always supplied and essential for kids ages 12 and under. Enjoy!

Dine at Geyser Point

In my opinion, Geyser Point is one of the most underrated gems on Walt Disney World Property. It offers two different options for enjoying its fare. The order window section is like a classic Quick Service restaurant. You go up to the window, order food, and then take it away. Or you can also sit at the bar and nearby tables. There is a hostess kiosk for check in to provide your party information. Unless you visit during a busy season, there is almost always availability with a minimal wait.

Geyser Point offers many satisfying selections, so regardless of what you decide to order, you can be assured that your meal will be a delightful experience. However, I believe the Cheesy Barbeque Brisket Dip is essential to your visit. At $11.00, the Cheesy Barbeque Brisket Dip is everything barbecue lovers dream of– a cheesy, meaty, warm barbeque experience that everyone is sure to love. It also comes with housemade chips served warm, crispy, and fresh every time. Need I say more?

No matter what time you dine at Geyser Point, you will be stunned by its charm and serene scenery. As a bonus, if you dine at Geyser Point in the evening, you might even get a glimpse of the Magic Kingdom fireworks, complete with music piped in.

Watch a Geyser Erupt

When you think of vacationing at Disney World, I bet watching a geyser erupt does not come to mind. But guess what? At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you and your family can watch a geyser erupt daily. It might be one of the most fantastic, unique things you see on vacation. The geyser is found between Bay Lake and the Silver Creek Springs pool in the courtyard zone of the resort. It’s designed to be a replica of Yellowstone National Park’s famous Old Faithful geyser.

You can witness the geyser going off every hour on the hour from about 7 a.m.to 10 p.m. It is certain to be a marvel!

See the Electrical Water Pageant

One of my favorite things to do while staying at Wilderness Lodge is basking in the wonder of the Electrical Water Pageant. Every night from 8:25 pm to 10:30 pm, a darling sea monster and additional critters cruise across the Seven Seas Lagoon. The parade lasts 15 minutes long and is entertainment for the entire family. Before you enjoy the show, be sure to confirm that it will be occurring that night by reviewing the My Disney Experience app. It is a delight for my family and me to experience, and I know that yours will feel the same way.

Find Hidden Mickeys

I don’t know about you, but I love looking for Hidden Mickeys when I visit Disney World. I make it my mission to find as many Hidden Mickeys as possible. Many of the Walt Disney World Resorts have Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunts, but the hunt at Wilderness Lodge is my favorite. Wilderness Lodge is a very detailed place. Imagineers thoughtfully placed Mickey’s all over the resort in places that you would never expect. The hunt takes fifteen to twenty minutes and is a must-do for my family and me during every visit. Can you find them all? Happy hunting!

I hope these tips make you eager for a vacation to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. These are just a few reasons it is my favorite place to stay. While there are many hotels to choose from at Disney World, the peaceful charm of Wilderness Lodge draws my family and me back year after year. And, once you stay there, you will understand why. Have a magical time!
